Creative Communications Strategist Launches PR Firm to Help Tampa Bay's Independent Restaurants Thrive — By Leading With Story
With a journey that spans global PR, corporate marketing, and 16 years as a full-time hula hoop artist, Abby Albaum returns to her storytelling roots to support the small businesses that define the soul of St. Pete.
St. Petersburg, FL – October 29, 2025 — After a dynamic 20-year career spanning global public relations, national restaurant marketing, and an award-winning wellness business built around handmade hula hoops, Abby Albaum is bringing her expertise full circle with the launch of Full Circle Creative — a boutique PR and marketing firm tailored to the needs independently owned food and beverage brands in Tampa Bay.
A Florida native and longtime St. Petersburg resident, Albaum began her career at Porter Novelli - a global PR firm in New York City - before relocating to Florida to find her niche in restaurant marketing. Her work led her to major hospitality brands like Bloomin’ Brands and The Melting Pot. She became the first in-house marketing executive at First Watch Restaurants, where she spent nearly five years building brand strategy, momentum, and leading PR grand opening efforts for dozens of new First Watch locations in the process.
In an unexpected — and inspiring — pivot, Albaum walked away from the best corporate job she ever had to pursue her passion for movement and community health. For the next 16 years, she built a national platform as a professional hula hoop artist and wellness educator. She founded Hoola-Fit, the only ACE-approved hula hoop teacher training program in the country, trained hundreds of instructors, rolled out youth fitness programming across Pinellas County schools and community centers, and opened the oldest handmade hula hoop shop on ETSY.
In 2020, her “hooping for mental health” message caught national attention after being featured in First for Women magazine and BuzzFeed, where her work was validated by a clinical psychologist and celebrated as a movement meditation tool to help combat depression (also the reason why Abby went all-in with her hula hoop business in 2008, as she credits the art form as the primary mechanism that helped her heal from mental health struggles).
“I’ve always believed in the power of story — whether I was helping a restaurant connect with its customers or helping a newbie hula hooper reconnect with their joy,” says Albaum.
After returning to restaurant marketing in 2024 — leading communications for brands like Greenlane and Kahwa Coffee Roasters — Albaum saw a growing need. As beloved restaurants around Tampa Bay struggled to stay afloat, she realized it was time to blend her storytelling roots and small business background with strategic, community-driven marketing.
That calling became Full Circle Creative — a firm built to give small and midsize food businesses the tools, voice, and visibility they need to compete without the burden of in-house overhead.
“Full Circle Creative isn’t just another marketing agency,” she explains. “It’s a mission to support the small, independently owned places that make Tampa Bay a destination — with smart, soulful storytelling and media strategy that works.”
The firm offers custom PR, content strategy, influencer collaboration, and fractional marketing direction for food and beverage brands — everything a restaurant needs to build buzz and loyalty, without the cookie-cutter fluff.
Full Circle Creative is now accepting clients throughout St. Petersburg, Pinellas, and the greater Tampa Bay area.
